Ann Wilson, the powerhouse vocalist of rock legends Heart, has shared that she was diagnosed with cancer. This news comes alongside the announcement that the band is postponing the remaining dates of their North American Royal Flush Tour.

In a statement released on July 3rd, Wilson revealed that she underwent surgery to remove a cancerous growth. While the surgery was successful and she’s recovering well, her doctors have advised a course of preventive chemotherapy. To ensure a full recovery, this necessitates taking a break from performing for roughly a year.

“To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs,” Wilson said in the statement. She assured fans that a full return is planned for 2025, with rescheduled dates to be announced soon. “This is merely a pause,” Wilson added, “I’ve much more to sing.”

The postponement follows the cancellation of the European leg of the tour back in May due to a previously undisclosed “time-sensitive but routine procedure” for Wilson.

Heart, formed by the Wilson sisters Ann and Nancy, is a cornerstone of classic rock. Their music, featuring anthems like “Magic Man,” “Crazy on You,” and “Alone,” has transcended generations. Fans around the world are undoubtedly wishing Ann Wilson a speedy recovery and eagerly awaiting the band’s return to the stage in 2025.
